What kind of pop-up space are you buying?
Pop-up event space can describe many temporary settings. Here it means a reusable, enclosed commercial venue that travels in a compact configuration and expands at the destination. A transformable event venue describes the change in structure; a mobile event space describes its ability to move. These terms do not mean every product has the same dimensions or operating requirements.
1. Match the platform to the destination
Compare container-based and semi-trailer systems before choosing finishes. A transport chassis visible in a container photograph may be a transportation tool, not a permanently integrated semi-trailer product. The semi-trailer platform is not offered for use in Europe or Canada. For other destinations, transport and local use still require project-specific review.
2. Plan more than the indoor floor area
Use the selected model’s drawing to plan the deployed footprint, access stairs, entry and exit routes, and clearance for opening and closing. The documented 45FT interior is 10.4 × 10.3 m; this is not the total site area required. Ask for support locations and site preparation requirements. Ground bearing, drainage and anchoring should be reviewed for the actual location rather than inferred from a photograph.
3. Separate deployment power from hall power
In the supplied semi-trailer specification, the approximately 10 kW onboard generator powers the hydraulic system, not the hall’s appliances. A separate 45–50 kW silent diesel generator is a referenced off-grid option for the hall. Final sizing depends on the selected electrical loads and starting requirements. Confirm the destination voltage and frequency, and the installation and inspection requirements with the responsible local professionals.
4. Request an operating plan
The supplied semi-trailer guide describes approximately 25 minutes to open or close, normally operated by one trained person. Do not assume the same timing for every container configuration or include site preparation in that figure. Ask about initial commissioning, training, the operating manual and the procedure for unsuitable weather before planning commercial events.
5. Define the handover scope
For a pop-up event venue quotation, list intended activities, seating, lighting, sound, accessibility needs and power availability. Ask who handles shipping, destination transport, unloading and commissioning. MBFD can discuss installation videos, manuals, remote support and on-site support when required; confirm the agreed scope and costs in the project documents.
