MBFD BUYING GUIDE

How to Ship an Expandable Event Venue Internationally

Plan international shipping for an expandable event venue, including RoRo, breakbulk, ports, inland delivery and unloading.

MBFD 45FT expandable container venue in folded transport state

Short answer

Expandable event venues are shipped according to their platform, transport dimensions, weight, destination port and unloading plan. Semi-trailer units commonly use RoRo transport, while the non-stackable 45FT expandable container requires breakbulk or another suitable non-stacking method.

Confirm the exact transport configuration

Do not book freight using only a marketing name such as 45FT venue or 53FT trailer. Use the final packing dimensions, weight, lifting points and chassis arrangement from the confirmed production documents.

Compare RoRo and breakbulk

RoRo allows suitable wheeled cargo to be driven or towed on and off the vessel. Breakbulk carries oversized or heavy equipment individually and requires a lifting and securing plan. Vessel availability and port capability vary by route.

Understand FOB pricing

MBFD’s typical reference range is USD 90,000–120,000 per unit, FOB. The usual Chinese loading ports are Ningbo, Shanghai and Taicang, with the actual named port confirmed in the quotation. FOB is not a delivered price at the final site.

Plan destination handling before shipment

Confirm customs documentation, destination charges, inland route limits, permits, lifting equipment, unloading space and the party responsible for commissioning. Product classification and road use depend on local authorities.

Prepare a shipping enquiry

Provide the destination country and port, preferred platform, final site location and whether the venue will move regularly after arrival. This allows the quotation and logistics plan to use the correct assumptions.
